Flipkart
India’s very own version of Amazon, Flipkart is a celebrated novelty bookshop on the web. It is an ideal playground for those looking to source books, music and even mobile phones. They have recently added cameras and computers to their arsenal. Flipkart is one of the very few stores that allow for cash on delivery, pacifying the technology resistant individuals who crowd these websites. Flipkart has quickly become the most popular websites primarily through word of mouth and Twitter. Though not the first to garner popularity by social networking, it is one of the success stories. Kickstarter
It is the quintessential entrepreneur’s platform. The website asks budding artists, photographers, businessmen or anyone who has an idea and wants to monetize it by reaching out to potential investors. The website works on the all-or-nothing principle—funds the project in entirety or none at all. We believe social will take new shape and this might be one of the fall-outs from it. Get on www.kickstarte.com to start pledging.

Nvidia’s 3D initiative
3D gives you a headache, yes, but only if you have passive glasses. But we aren’t asking you to get the ones you get at theatres. Nvidia 3D vision live has the best high definition 3D videos on the web. Nvidia has vowed to woo us with regular updates at www.3dvisionlive.com. There are some very neat ones. Arm yourself with the right glasses and enjoy it.

Latitude
Google’s Latitude has been around for a while. But with location centric social networking gathering steam, Latitude might not be as bad as it was first made out to be. India has finally been introduced to the 3rd Generation spectrum; interacting with Google maps might just be the next big thing.

Four Square
Four Square is Latitude’s bigger and better competitor. People are already turning mayor. This was originally targeted as a widget that might add on to twitter, but it took off on its own. It gathered storm in late 2010 and will become almost as big as Twitter within the next 10 months. The only problem: not the best deal for the Symbian interface.

Diaspora
This social networking website has been privately cooking for the last year. Several Facebook users have abandoned their lofty, unsecure and publically exposed perches as they wait for the more protected Diaspora. The open-code designed networking website is in its Alpha stage and is slated to open its doors to public use soon. Have you sent in your application for an invite? No? Listverse
A Post Graduate from the Royal College of Music started Listverse. It is all, as the name describes, about creating lists. Listverse is about the bizarre, the musical and the mundane. Wikileaks
Yes, we know what you say—Wikileaks is so 2010. But we believe it will get bigger, badder and stronger as the year pans out. With the revolts in Egypt, Yemen, Sudan and Tunisia refusing to go away, there are cables being exchanged between countries. Where there are embarrassing cables there is Wikileaks. Julian Assange’s vendetta against, well, everyone will pack a stronger punch this year. Privately we hope for a few of those Swiss bank dirty secrets. Did you download the Wikileak app? Grooveshark
This is one of our favourite live music streaming website. It is simple, light and effective. It has an extensive library and a useful playlist creator. This checks all the boxes we need for in-office entertainment, and includes no deceitful women draped on the banner advertising a “cute dating service.” We know because we clicked. This has all that you need for any consumer needs you have. This website reviews mobile phones, TVs, Laptops and even analyzes headphones and their likes.
