The MX Air is actually a revolutionary product. It looks like no other mouse, but more like a cordless phone or a fancy remote control. While you may be used to using a mouse on a tabletop, with the MX Air you can also wave around in the air to control the mouse pointer.
The laser guided tracking system is precise and responsive. Using a technology called 'FreeSpace', the pointer and media controls work even in the air, so it's a great idea if you want to use it with a home theatre PC to playback media on a large screen TV.

Verdict
Apart from basic mouse functionality you also get extra media control buttons and a touch-sensitive scroll pad instead of a scroll wheel. Everything is backlit in a mesmerizing orange. Power is from built in rechargeable batteries which are charged when the device is placed in the dock. You'll easily get a week of battery life from a full charge. Installation is a breeze too; just plug in the micro-receiver into your PC and you're good to go. The SetPoint software has to be installed for better results though. A disadvantage is the glossy, scratch & fingerprint prone surface. And all this futuristic technology doesn't come cheap; at almost Rs 9k, you can buy three laser wireless mice for the same price. Buy it if you must have the latest tech to show off.
