We can’t go all gaga over the iPad 2 as there are a few areas which could be improvised, and where the other competitors would have a step ahead.

The iPad 2 from Apple is one of the best tablet devices available in the market, but at the same time it keeps itself in the list of the most expensive gadgets providing more or less the same functionality as the other devices. We have the 9.7 inch screen with the HD graphic display, though Apple hasn’t worked to bring out a higher resolution than the 10824x768 pixel in the iPad 2. When one has to compare the screen resolution compared to the size, we would rate the Galaxy Note and Tab better than the iPad 2, but the latter has its own features and advantages when compared to the Android devices.

Powered by the 1GHz dual core processor, which is the custom designed Apple A5 chip optimized to increase the speed, and we are totally impressed with the performance. The Android tablet makers would hang their low when a performance check is done between the tablet devices running the iOS 5 and the Android OS. iOS 5 being one of the most advanced and best operating systems for the handheld devices, it has a few features that would make the users fall in love with the interface and the productivity it delivers. Although a high end processor and a large screen with the HD display, Apple iPad 2 delivers at least 9 to 10 hours of usage with a single charge of battery, thanks to the 25 watt lithium polymer battery and the flash memory takes away all the chances of the battery drain.

When we held the iPad 2 for the first instance, it was one of the lightest and the sleekest device we have had in hands lately, and in the market right now there is no other tablet except the Samsung’s products which you would actually call a tablet. Apple iPad 2 perfectly fits into the definition of what a tablet device is, and should be.

The picture quality is not appreciable, even when captured with the rear camera. The front camera, which fulfils the need for video calling, doesn’t provide a clear view of the person facing it and the blurry image can only be called quite well when a user with an iOS device is video calling with the iPad 2 user. The rear camera is said to capture 720p HD videos, and the captured videos when uploaded on Youtube would show the 720p quality, but the same isn’t so clear and neat when actually viewed in the 720p mode. Comparing the videos captured using the iPad 2, and the iPhone 4, the 720p quality could easily help us identify which video was captured by the iPad 2, blame the capture quality for that.

The iOS could have been different, from what a user sees in the iPhone and iPod touch. Android takes the crown away, by bringing out a version which was exclusively for the tablet devices, but iPad on the other hand as everything similar to the iPhone. One of the impressive accessories Apple has brought iPad 2 with is the Smart cover. The magnetic cover unlocks and locks the home screen of the iPad when the Smart cover is opened and closed with the multiple folds. The same cover was strong enough to fold itself to have the iPad in a landscape stand mode, where you could use it for viewing movies without having to hold the iPad always.

Connectivity in the iPad 2 depends on the version you are purchasing, and the 3G connectivity using the Micro SIM in the iPad WiFi and 3G version is impressive. No much hassle in connecting to the internet after we had set the name servers for the SIM we used, and the networking on the go was neat. We always loved Apple products for the great connectivity options it has provided, and iPad 2 didn’t fail to impress us.

Overall, the iPad 2 WiFi and 3G is a tablet device one would actually boast to call a tablet device they have in their hands. The sleek and thin design, the smart cover, the HD display and the long battery life are the essentials one would be happy with, and those who are still thinking whether the iPad 2 is worth upgrading from the first gen. iPad, it surely is. The gaming, video viewing, music and the entertainment options are unlimited, and are totally supported by the software and the hardware of the iPad 2. One would have to decide only based on the operating system if they wanted to choose between an iPad 2 and a high end Android tablet.

I dont like Apple iPad at all its get overheated when playing some games and is coastly. Samsung Galaxy Tab and ASUS Transformer Prime are the best.
